About Example Jewellery

I’m Emily Gresham the maker behind Example Jewellery. All of my products are carefully handcrafted in my workshop in Abbots Bromley, Staffordshire.

I make one of a kind and small batch produced designs for you to treasure or share with those you love. Working primarily in sterling silver, I use carefully selected gemstones and gold in some of my designs.

I am passionate about how jewellery can make you feel or 'user oriented design' as we called it when I was a student. In my time studying 3D Design my creations were tactile, designed to have a sensory impact and ground the user.

I've changed career and experimented in various media including jewellery, blown glass and furniture. No matter what I do, I always find myself drawn back to this concept.

Take my signature Time collection as an example. It explores a theme of gently textured, almost worn surfaces that I first experimented with when designing my own wedding band. A piece of jewellery to wear for years to come as we grow older and hopefully wiser together. My intention was that with so many years of wear ahead of it, a gently textured surface may soften and change when given enough time. When I touch my wedding ring I am instantly connected with our story, what we've achieved together and the opportunities our future holds.
